Funeral services for Edwin J. Soenksen, 98, DeWitt, were held Feb. 17, 1997 at Grace Lutheran church in DeWitt, with burial in the Elmwood cemetery, DeWitt.

Mr. Soenksen died Feb. 14 at his home in DeWitt.

He was born April 22, 1898 in rural DeWitt. He married Esther Licht in 1931 in Lowden.

Mr. Soenksen built and operated Fun Equipment Co. and the Winsther Motel in DeWitt.

He is survived by his wife; 3 daughters, Hazel Carlucci, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Anne Harman, Greer, S.C.; and Maria Casad, DeWitt; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
