Lester Fox 1918-1996

Funeral services for Lester R. Fox, 78, Wheatland, were held March 30, 1996 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland, with the Rev. Harold Koening officiating. Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch was the organist and Joel Paulsen sang. Pallbearers were Todd Fox, Roger Rohwedder, Lonnie Moeller, Troy Hain, Donovan Fox and Darrell Kroh. Burial was in St. Paul's church cemetery.

Mr. Fox died March 27 at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport, following a lengthy illness.

The son of Henry and Lillie Laschansky Fox, he was born Jan. 23, 1918 in rural Wheatland. He married Ella Schnack June 12, 1940 in Tipton.

Mr. Fox was a farmer.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. He enjoyed woodworking and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Fox is survived by his wife; a daughter, Carolyn (Mrs. Roger) Hain, Tipton; a son, Arlan, Oquawka, Ill.; 3 brothers, Roland, Lowden; Donald, Stockton and Virtus, DeWitt, 2 sisters, Ruby Kroh, Wheatland and Jeannette Kleppe, Bennett; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
