Final rites for Marie E. (Mrs. John) Sievers, 80, were held at Grace Lutheran church, DeWitt, March 6, 1993 with the Rev. Ronald Goodsman officiating. Burial was in Pine Hill cemetery, Wheatland. Pallbearers were Craig and Howard Muhl, Michael VanDaele, William Horstmann, Jr., Hubert Gade, Jim Lee and Darrell Cain. Carole Johnson was organist, Danny Bennett, violinist and Andrea Shelton, soloist.

Mrs. Sievers died at St. Luke's hospital, Davenport, March 4.

The daughter of Charles and Wilkie Peters Hicks, she was born at Grand Mound July 10, 1912. She married John Sievers at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Nov. 17, 1934. She was a member of Grace Lutheran church.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy Smith, Wheatland; a son, John, Calamus; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son and daughter, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
