Last rites for Eleanor Catherine (Mrs. William) Levien, 88, were held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland, Sept. 24, 1992, with the Rev. Harold Koenig officiating. Burial was in the Dixon cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger S. Stankee, Wade Hagen, Steve and Dick Wulf, Allan Levien, Richard O'Rourke and Don Omens. Dorothy Gibson was organist and Roletta Thomas vocalist. A Pythian Sisters service was held Sept. 23.

Mrs. Levien died at Wheatland Manor Sept. 21.

The daughter of Paul H. and Amand Eichner Meyer, she was born at Dixon March 25, 1904. She married William Levien in Davenport Aug. 24, 1921. She worked at Calamus and Wheatland nursing homes.

She was a member of Dixon Temple 247, Pythian Sisters, past grand chief in Iowa, past alternate supreme representative and supreme representative 1962-66. She was also a member of the Past Presidents of Grand Chief Council of Iowa of the Pythian Order, a trustee of the Grand Temple of Iowa and representative of the past grand chief of the state of Iowa in 1951.

She was also a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Home Extension board, the Scott County Library Board, Wheatland Library Board, American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Elaine (Mrs. Harlan) Muhl, Wheatland; a son, Wesley, Iowa City; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Adeline (Mrs. Roland) Flenker, DeWitt.

She was preceded in death by a son, Paul; a daughter, Myra; a brother and a sister.
