Funeral services for Emma Soenksen, 90, Calamus, were held July 14, 1992 at Immanuel Lutheran church in Grand Mound, with burial in the Evergreen cemetery, Grand Mound.

Mrs. Soenksen died July 11 at the Clarence Nursing Home.

Emma Griebel married Ervin Soenksen in 1919 in Calamus. He died in 1972.

She farmed with her husband in the Calamus area. She was a member of the church, Ladies Aid and Grand Mound Cemetery Assocation. She served as a 4-H leader for the Cheerful Workers and Happy Go Lucky Clubs.

Mrs. Soenksen is survived by a daughter, Elnora (Mrs. Don) Marston, Rockford, Ill; a son, Ervis, Clarence; 2 granddaughters and 2 great-granddaughters.
