FREMONT, Ind. — Carl “Ed” Everett, 62, of Fremont, died Nov. 21 at the Lakeland Nursing Center, Angola, Ind.
A Blue Lodge Masonic service was held during the visitation Friday with military committal service conducted by the Fremont and Angola American Legions. Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, was in charge of arrangements.
He was born April 30, 1943, in McFadden, Ark., to Benson and Allene McFadden Everett. He married Linda Lawson on Dec. 27, 1980, in Angola.
He was a 1961 graduate of Angola High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Vietnam War.
He was a 30-year employee and vice president of sales with Tyden-Brammall Inc., Angola. He retired in June as co-owner and vice president of SOS, Angola.
He was a member and past commander of Angola American Legion Post 31 and Fremont American Legion Cassel Post 257. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 2387, Fremont; Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Coldwater, Mich.; Northwestern Lodge 210 of the Free and Accepted Masons, Fremont; and Angola Elks Lodge 2398.
Survivors include one daughter; one stepson; two sisters, Mrs. Phyllis (Douglas) Horn of Low Moor and Mrs. Connie (James) Reas of Pleasant Lake; nine grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Masonic Building Fund, Fremont, or the Ed Everett Memorial Park Bench Fund for Pokagon State Park and McClure Nature Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
