The Clinton Herald Friday August 1, 1952 p. 11 Mrs. Thora Root, 89, died at 11:55 a.m. Friday in her home at 2220 Pershing Blvd. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Mrs. Root was born on Sept. 9, 1862 in Drammen, Norway, the daughter of Erhard Godfried and Julia Larum Wiborg. In her infancy, she came with her parents to the old town of Lyons where she has resided since. In 1884 she was married to Charles L. Root, former Lyons mayor and otherwise prominent in business and political affairs in Clinton. She is survived by one son and three grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband and one son.
