The Clinton Herald Mary Lucille Buck, age 86 of Clinton, Iowa died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at her home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 9:00 A.M. at Prince of Peace Parish-St. Irenaeus Church, with the Rev. Anthony Herald officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 P.M. at the Pape Funeral Home, where a 5:00 P.M. vigil service will be recited. Burial will be at St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard DeHaven, Darin, Bill, Ed, Dan and Tom McEleney. Lucille was born June 26, 1918 in Clinton, the daughter of Leonard and Mary (McEleney) Cossman. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1936. Lucille married Russell Holm Buck on June 25, 1942 at St. Irenaeus Church in Clinton. Russell died in 1982. She was the office manager at McEleney Motors in Clinton for 40 years retiring in 1976. After her retirement she volunteered at the St. Irenaeus Church office as treasurer and later at the Prince of Peace offices. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter J.N. since 1995. Lucille is survived by 4 granddaughters: Renee (Jeff) Pendley of Clinton, IA, Deborah (Rick) DeHaven Green of Phoenix, AZ., Yvette Marie DeHaven of Scottsdale, AZ, and Nicole Lucille DeHaven of Clinton, IA; a grandson, Hugh Johnson of Cedar Rapids, IA; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn DeHaven in 1994, and 2 brothers, Leonard and Joseph Cossman. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice.
