The Clinton Herald Monday April 16, 1979 p. 14 William P. McEleney, 82, of 2349 Cleveland St., died Sunday at Wyndcrest Nursing Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Irenaeus Church, with the Rev. James Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Pape Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Patrick Lyons, Jeffery and Jay Herkelman, Brent Thomas, Andrew Isenhour and Gregory Henn. He was born Jan. 25, 1897, in Clinton, to Michael and Bridget Rogers McEleney. He married Rosalia Krogman in Clinton. He was a carpenter, World War I veteran and member of St. Irenaeus Church. Survivors include his wife and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bruhn, Clinton, and Mrs. Alicia Goldsberry, Des Moines. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
