The Clinton Herald Thursday September 16, 1943 p. 14 Mrs. Leo P. McEleney, 3006 Cleveland street, died today at 4:30 a.m. in Mercy hospital after a lingering illness. The body reposes in the Pape funeral home where the rosary will be recited Friday at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in St. Irenaeus Catholic church with the Rev. E.F. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus-Calvary cemetery. Mrs. McEleney was a member of St. Irenaeus Altar and Rosary society, a member of the U.C.T. auxiliary, and past president of the American Legion auxiliary. Elsie Helen Bonneman was born March 29, 1893 in Clinton, the daugher of Wolhelm and Julia Bonneman. She was educated in the city schools and on May 25, 1920, was married to Leo P. McEleney who survives with three sons, Warrent, Flint, Mich.; Donald and James, of the home. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. J.C. Zinglemann, Clinton, and Mrs. Richard Price, San Francisco, Calif.; one brother, E.W. Bonnemann, Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Mrs. McEleney in death were her parents, a sister and a brother. All members of the Clinton American Legion auxiliary will meet Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Pape funeral home to pay their respects to Mrs. McEleney, a long-time member and former president of the Clinton auxiliary.
