Betty J. Schluns 79, of Clinton, died Monday in South Carolina.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Horst Hehr officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 14, 1926, to John and Alma Hoehne Schneden of DeWitt. She married Walter E. Schluns on March 18, 1946, in South Carolina.
She worked with the Garment Co. and Neilson’s Clearing House.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose Club, Fulton (Ill.) Country Club and Zion Lutheran Church. She also volunteered at Mercy Medical Center.
Survivors include seven children, Nancy Williams of Hodges, S.C., Paul Schluns of Abilene, Kan., Carol Rogers of Simpsonville, S.C., Pam Rode of Greer, S.C., Debra DeWitt of Clinton, Tim Schluns of Tuhlequah, Okla., Michael Schluns of Queens Creek, Ariz.; one brother, Virgil Schneden of Burlington; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two grandchildren.
