(May 30, 1930 - January 3, 2005)

Thelma M. (Mrs. Dale) Hickle, 74, DeWitt, Iowa, died Monday evening January 3, 2005 at Phoenix Baptist Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona.
Thelma Marie Small was born May 30, 1930 in Maquoketa, Iowa. She married Dale Hickle May 13, 1988. Thelma worked as a secretary at local car dealerships for over 25 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, and the Altar and Rosary Society. Thelma also was a member of Spring Brook Country Club and the Lady Shriners. She loved family and friends, golfing and traveling. She cherished the time she spent with her husband Dale. The couple had wintered in Arizona since 1988.

Surviving are her loving husband, Dale; her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Dr. Mark Kelly, Van Meter, Iowa; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Mary Hickle, Glendale, Arizona; a daughter and son-in-law, Karon and Dr. Chris Kastner, Cordell, Oklahoma; a daughter, Becki Miller, South Bend, Indiana; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Thelma was preceded in death by her daughter, Marla and former husband, Joe Wendt, two brothers and a sister.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2005. Vigil service 7 p.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. The Rev. Fr. H. Robert Harness officiating. Interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, DeWitt. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
