Grace Maxine Myers 11/16/2005 DeWITT, Iowa -- Grace Maxine Myers, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Monday, November 14, 2005, at Wheatland Manor, Wheatland, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2005, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lou Gehrig ALS Association in Iowa City. Grace was born October 20, 1930, in Davenport, the daughter of John and Grace (Gripp) Caffery. On April 25, 1959, she was united in marriage to James Avery Myers in Rock Island. Grace enjoyed playing bingo, going to garage sales, and most of all watching the TV show “COPS.” Grace cherished spending time with her family. She was a mother extraordinaire and a wonderful grandmother who will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory are daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Patrick Jansen, Lorri and Jerry Thompson, and Rose and Terry Gile, all of DeWitt; sons, Raymond E. Hamilton, of Texas, Michael D. Hamilton, of Davenport, and Steven A. Myers, of Long Grove, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Heather Myers, Chad Hamilton, Ashley Myers, Amanda Gile, Cory Gile, Carrie Jansen, and Brian Jansen; and sister, Betty Larson, Davenport. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, Vivian Sabel, Janette Tuthill and Arlene Engholm, and brother, Johnny Caffery.
