Donald N. Hester

ELDRIDGE — Donald N. Hester, 61 of Eldridge, died Wednesday at his home.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, where funeral services will be at 7 p.m.

He was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Kansas City, Kan., to Everett and Lily Heinze Hester. He married Aloha Scheffler in 1969 in Kansas City.

He graduated from Wyndotte High School, Kansas City.

He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam.

He was an engineer with the Chicago Northwestern/ Union Pacific railroads for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife; children, Shandi, Ronda and Debra; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers, Dennis, Richard and Jar Hester, all of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
