Funeral services for John W. Meyer, 54, DeWitt, were held June 16, 1988 at the First Congregational United church of Christ in DeWitt, with the Rev. Mark Buck officiating. Burial was in the Elmwood cemetery at DeWitt.

Mr. Meyer died June 13 at St. Luke's hospital in Davenport.

The son of Herman and Florence Fisher Meyer, he was born April 6, 1934 at Bennett. He married Donna Thede Nov. 24, 1952 in Wheatland. He was an inspector for J. I. Case in Bettendorf for more than 28 years.

Mr. Meyer is survived by his wife; 2 daughters, Linda Meyer and Deanna Meyer, both of DeWitt; a son, Mark, Cedar Falls; his mother, Florence Meyer, DeWitt; a sister, Mrs. Merwyn (Joyce) Scheckel, DeWitt and a brother, Virgil, DeWitt. He was preceded in death by his father.
