Mildred K. Hogan

SABULA - Mildred K. Hogan, 96, formerly of Sabula, died Wednesday at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula. The Rev. Robert Krueger will be officiating. All relatives and friends are invited to join the family for refreshments at the church dining room following the memorial service. The Law-Jones Funeral Home, Sabula, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 22, 1909, to Martin C. and Katharina Koch Harmsen.

She was educated in rural Sabula schools. She graduated from Sabula High School in 1928. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1931 with a nursing degree from the College of Nursing.

She was a private duty nurse in and around the Sabula for several years. In 1935, she moved to Los Angeles where she continued her nursing career. She retired in 1973.

She and her husband lived in Oceanside, Calif. She moved to Clinton in 1992.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mary Louise (Thomas) Dunsford of Laurinburg, N.C.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nephews; one niece; and cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorials may be made to Alverno Health Care Hospice, Clinton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three sisters.
