Duane Allen Petersen, 57, Wheatland died in an auto accident on a Clinton county road Sept. 13. Petersen, a retired rural mail carrier, was driving on Clinton county road Y-52 about 9 p.m. Sunday when his car went into the ditch and rolled several times. He was thrown from the car. It is believed that Petersen may have suffered a heart attack.

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. today (Sept. 17) at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland, with burial in the church cemetery.

He was an army veteran of the Korean war, a member of the United Church of Christ, the Wheatland American Legion and the Rural Mail Carriers association.

He is survived by his wife, the former Wanda McNeil, whom he married in Wheatland in 1950; a daughter, Christine (Tina) Petersen, Wheatland and 3 sons, Brian, Williamsburg; Mitchel, Milan, Ill. and Bradley, Wheatland; 3 grandchildren and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Petersen, Bettendorf.
