Sandra was born on Dec. 8, 1938 in Clinton, Iowa, the second child of John and Esther (Rasmussen) Steffensen. She attended Clinton public schools and the University of Iowa, becoming a Dental Hygienist. Sandra was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority

She married Rodney Parsons (Rod) June 2, 1961 and they celebrated over 62 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband (Rod); daughters: Mrs. Anne (Jeffrey) Galkin; Dr. Amy (Kate) Parsons; and Mrs. Molly (Todd) Skelton. She is also survived by three granddaughters: Hannah Galkin, Rebecca Galkin and Evelyn Lea Skelton. Her children and her grandchildren were her joy! Preceding Sandra in passing were her sister Carole (Steffensen) Blumberg and her brother John Steffensen.

Sandra loved her work as a Dental Hygienist, practicing over 50 years: interrupted for a few years when she was a "stay at home" Mom.

There are two fundamental commandments in Sandy's faith: "Love God; Love One-another". Sandy was the essence of love as wife, mother, grandmother, and as "Aunt Sandy" to her broadly extended family. Her many deep friendships extend from early childhood through high school; through college and her many stops along the way as she and Rod traveled through life. Once, when asked by a friend, she described her life as "wonderful!". Sandra was wonderful!
