Last Sad Rites.

Many gathered at the modest home at Old Main and Division streets yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock to attend the simple services that marked the funeral of one of Lyons' best known pioneers, the late Charles C. Finch.

The funeral was followed by interment in the Hess cemetery out on Elvira road.

DIED. At his residence in this city, on the 19th inst., after an illness of some length, Mr. Charles C. Finch, in his 82nd year. He was born in Canada, was engaged in the McKenzie rebellion of 1838, and in the following year came west, trapping for a fur company, crossing here in '39, '41 and '42, and in '44 he located on what became his farm in Hampshire township, and has lived there and in Lyons since. In '49 he married Miss Electa A. Hall, who survives him, as well as two of their children -- Mathew Finch and Mrs. Betsy Woolever. His funeral was held Tuesday, with many old friends and neighbors present, and burial in the Hess cemetery, whither a long procession followed his remains. Mr. Finch was respected and liked by a large circle of friends as well as relatives. We knew him for over forty years, and had great regard for him as a neighbor and friend.
