Death of Chas. Sawin, a Well Known Printer of Clinton

At the home of his parents, 541 Second avenue, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Chas. Sawin, aged 35 years, 9 months, 24 days, died of consumption, after a long illness. He was born in Worster, Mass., but had lived in Clinton the greater part of his life. On the Lyons Mirror he learned the printer's trade, which he followed as long as health permitted, remaining with the Mirror some twelve years, then being employed on the New and Herald, of Clinton, and in a prominent job office of Chicago.

He lived a modest quiet life, was a great reader and was, like many printers, thoroughly posted on current topics. His friends were not many, but they were limited only by his acquaintance. He has set his last "take" and soon his "form" will be "locked" in the cold "em-brace" of the tomb, yet his memory will be cherished by the many "prints" who knew him in life for his noble traits.

The funeral will occur at the house at 2 o'clock Thursday, with burial in the Hess Cemetery.

DEATH OF A PRINTER
Charles Sawin Falls, Another Victim to Consumption -- The Funeral

Mr. Charles Sawin, a well known printer of this city, died at the residence of his parents, No. 541 Second avenue, at 7 o'clock Tuesday evening, after a long and hard struggle with consumption, aged 35 years, 9 months, and 24 days.

His birthplace was Worcester, Mass., but the greater part of his life was spent in this city. He learned the printer's trade in the office of the Lyons Mirror, where he worked for several years. Although he was of a modest and retiring nature, he neverthless had many friends, who respected him for his upright character. He was a well read young man and kept himself informed of the questions and topics of the hour, and his loss will be felt by all who were acquainted with him.

The funeral will occur from the residence this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
