Richard C. Floming, 72, of Mount Carroll, died Monday October 10, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mount Carroll.

There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ss. John and Catherine Catholic Church, Mount Carroll, with the Rev. Moises Apostol officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Carroll. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll, with a Scripture wake service at 7:30 p.m.

He was born Aug. 14, 1933, in rural Geneseo, Ill., to John and Louise Wyffles Floming. He married Norma J. Barton on April 11, 1953, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Atkinson, Ill.

He graduated from Atkinson High School.

He farmed in rural Mount Carroll. He was a heavy machine operator with Tautz Brothers Excavating, Mount Carroll. He owned and operated Floming's Tap, Mount Carroll, for 10 years. He sold farm equipment and structures in the Carroll County area.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Steven (Tonda) Floming of High Ridge, Mo., Alen (Linda) Floming of Mount Carroll and Richard L. (Crista) Floming of Lanark, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Sandra (LaMoine) Aude of Mount Carroll, Mrs. Karen (Steven) Phillips of Mount Carroll and Jean Floming (fiance Kenneth Reins) of Chadwick, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Pat) Floming of East Moline, Ill.; and two sisters, Marjorie Williams of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Dorothy Nelson of Nebraska.
