Nancy Jeanne Andrews (nee Rajcevich), accomplished quilt artist and brilliant seamstress, unparallelled storyteller, infectious belly laugher, and the world's best hugger, passed away on February 10th, 2019 at her home in Clinton, Iowa.
This gregarious, generous of love, strong beyond measure, funny, patient, and kind woman has left a profound mark on the lives of those who were lucky enough to know and love her. Her presence will be deeply missed by her husband David Andrews; her beloved daughters, Jennifer and Theresa Andrews (Tyler Jensen); brother, David (Morgan) Rajcevich; cherished grandchildren Caden Melchiori and Eva Jensen, and her many other devoted family and friends.
Nancy was born November 10th, 1947 in Clinton, Iowa to parents Harriet (nee Dellitt) and George Rajcevich. She married her high school sweetheart, David Andrews, on May 24th, 1969. Together they would build a beautiful family that would remain a source of pride to Nancy throughout her life.
Her grandchildren Caden and Eva in particular enriched her life with a newfound light. She dedicated herself to them fully, as she did all family, with joy and selfless generosity. Her laugh, humor, and ability to make one feel truly loved, served as a beacon for those who knew her.
As a young woman Nancy dreamed of becoming an artist, and soon discovered fabric to be the perfect medium for her natural creativity. She dedicated herself to years of service at Northwest Fabrics (Hancock Fabrics), and later Susan's Calico Creations. Her work brought her happiness and valuable friendships that she would maintain over the years. She was known as a patient teacher, and a passionate creator.
Nancy is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Rajcevich; father, George Rajcevich; and mother Harriet Rajcevich (Dellit).
Please join us in a celebration of Nancy's life at Snell Zornig Funeral Home, 302 3rd Ave. S., Clinton, IA. Visitation will be held from 9:00am-11:00am on Thursday, February 14th, with services to follow.
