AN OLD CITIZEN GONE.
Thomas Kehoe Passes Away After a Brief Illness.
Thomas Kehoe died at his home on West Pearl street at 2:30 Friday morning, after an illness of about two weeks. He had not been in robust health for about two years.
Mr. Kehoe was born in Waterford county, Ireland in 1821. Upon coming to America he first located in Virginia, later moving west and settling in Lyons where he had lived for more than 40 years.
Mr. Kehoe was a very respected citizen and was known and esteemed by a large circle of friends. In June 1862, he enlisted in company G, 26th Iowa infantry and served in the civil war until mustered out in August, 1865.
He is survived by a wife, a daughter and three sons; they are Mrs. Ed. Keeting, living on South Fourth street in Clinton, John Kehoe, of Omaha, Thomas Kehoe and Ed. Kehoe of Lyons. Word has been received from the son in Omaha stating that he will come at once. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from St. Irenaeus church, interment to follow at Calvary.
