Across the Dark River
We are again called upon to record the death of one of our business men. Mr. S. A. Elmore, who for the past two years and a half has been a prominent dealer in this city, died this morning at two o'clock after an illness of five months. His death was the result of an affection of the brain, which has caused him many weeks of acute suffering.
Mr. Elmore was a native of Tompkins county, New York, and a long resident of Aurora, Ill., whither his remains will be taken for interment. He leaves many friends in Clinton to mourn his death.
The funeral will take place tomorrow the 26th inst., at four o'clock p.m. at the Methodist Church.
