Hundreds of the old friends of Mr. Wm. Williams, who lived in Lyons or vicinity for a quarter of a century, will join with us in regretting his death, which occurred at Concordia, Kansas, on the 9th instant. The Concordia Blade of the 10th said:
Mr. Wm. Williams, father of Burt and Dave Williams, old Concordians, died at the residence of Mr. Bennett yesterday afternoon, of typhoid malaria, aged 77 years. Mr. Williams was an old and respected citizen of this county, having moved here in 1877. He was born in Wales in the year 1810, and came to this country in 1839, settling near Utica, New York, from where he removed in 1858 to Lyons, Iowa. Twenty-four years later he removed to Cloud county and has been a resident here since. He was first taken sick five weeks ago with a malarial fever, which ultimately resulted in his death, the funeral occurring this afternoon at the house. To the bereaved sons and daughters of the deceased is extend the deepest sympathy by all.
