Donna J. Lyons, 69, of Maquoketa, died Friday at the Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa, with the Rev. James Chappell and Deacon Bob Head officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Maquoketa. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, where a rosary will be held at 7 p.m. There will be an additional visitation Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service time at the church.

She was born Jan. 5, 1936, in Clinton to Oscar E. and Helen Heath Lind. She married Robert Lyons on Feb. 21, 1974, in Maquoketa.

She graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1953.

She married Larry Temple in 1954.

She worked at the South Inn Supper Club for many years and was Jackson County Jail matron for 20 years before retiring in 1994.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart Church Choir, Association Order of St. Frances, St. Bernadette Circle, Church Women United, Town and Country Quilters, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, American Legion Post 75 Auxiliary, VFW Legion Post 3633 Auxiliary and Jackson County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Denise (Jeff) Kopp of Marion and Diane Hayes of Maquoketa; two stepsons, Don (Jayne) Lyons of Denison and Ron (Renee) Lyons of Atkins; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Clara Rorah of Maquoketa.
