Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Petersen, 74, were held at Our Saviour Lutheran church, Calamus, Jan. 9 with the Rev. Dale Marshall officiating. Burial was in Our Saviour Lutheran cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Miller, Keith Whitlatch, Douglas Henning, Warren Wiese, Dennis Henning and Roger Meier. Craig Henning was vocalist and Mrs. Diane Prichard was organist.
Mrs. Petersen died at St. Luke's hospital, Davenport, Jan. 6 following a brief illness.
The daughter of Andrew D. and Lizzie M. Kinkaid Miller, she was born near Calamus, Dec. 25, 1903 and graduated from the Calamus schools in 1921. She was married to Dr. Niles J. Petersen in Davenport, May 6, 1921.
She lived at Calamus, Donahue, Audobon and West Liberty before coming to Tipton 6 years ago. She was a member of the Tipton Garden club and First United Church of Christ and was treasurer of Martha circle.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Frankson, Henry, Ill.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Fred (Effie) Fisher, Westchester, Pa.; Mrs. Fred (Viola) Quelle, Bettendorf; Mrs. Glenn (Uvone) Holcomb, Davenport and Mrs. LeRoy (Ruth) Wiese, Bennett and 2 brothers, Faye Miller, Kearney, Nebr. and Glenn Miller, Alexandria, Minn., and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and a brother.
