February 24, 1977 - The Tipton Conservative

Last rites for Mrs. Lottie Kelding, 89, were held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ Feb. 12 with the Rev. Harold Koenig officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wallace, Gary, Dennis and Wayne Kelding, Merlyn Bixler and Robert Salsberry. Mrs. Merlyn Bixler and Mrs. Robert Salsberry were in charge of flowers. Mrs. Jerome Patterson was vocalist and August Knoll organist.

Mrs. Kelding died at Colonial Manor, Wheatland, Feb. 10.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Burhop, she was born in Borgham, Germany Dec. 24, 1887. She worked as a housekeeper in Lowden and was married to Philip Kelding Sept. 14, 1906. They farmed south of Wheatland and, after her husband's death in 1940, she lived in New Liberty until entering Colonial Manor 7 years ago.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

She is survived by 2 sons, Carl, New Liberty and Paul, Durant; 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Julius, who was killed in World War II; a sister, 5 brothers, a great-granddaughter and a great-great granddaughter.
