January 17, 1918 - The Clinton Advertiser

Miss Ellen O'Hern passed away at 8:30 o'clock this morning at Mt. Alverno. The body will be taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. John Lawler, 807 Sixth street. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Friends will kindly omit flowers.

January 18, 1918 - The Clinton Advertiser

Funeral services for the late Miss Ellen O'Hern will be held from the home of her sister, Mrs. Jahn Lawler, 807 South Sixth street Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Solemn requiem high mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's church with Right Rev. Monsignor F. J. McLaughlin celebrant, assisted by Rev. F. S. Lawler and Rev. W. F. Lawler of Davenport, Rev. J. H. O'Donnell and Rev. Thos. Coleman. Burial will be made in St. Mary's cemetery.

The deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lawler and two brothers, Thomas A. O'Hern and James F. O'Hern, all of this city.

January 19, 1918 - The Clinton Advertiser

Funeral services for the late Miss Ellen O'Hern were held this morning from St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock. Solemn requiem high mass was celebrated by Right Rev. Monsignor E. J. McLaughlin assisted by Rev. F. S. Lawler deacon, Rev. W. E. Lawler, sub deacon, and Rev. T. S. Coleman, master of ceremonies.

The funeral was attended by a large number of friends and relatives who came to pay their last respects to the deceased. Interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs. John Murphy, Jerry A. Keefe, W. P. Hayes, Thomas Burke, John Monahan and John Sheperd.
