George Williams, a former well known resident of this county, died recently near Everly, Iowa. He was the father of George Williams of 515 Sixteenth avenue, and a brother of Mrs. George Gast of 500 Second avenue.

Mr. Williams was born in Cloby, Lincolnshire, England, on February 6, 1853. When he was two and one-half years old his parents came to America and settled on a farm near Elvira, Iowa, in Clinton county, where he grew to manhood and here he was married to Martha R. Robson November 17th,1875, and in 1884 they moved to Cherokee county, this state.

A few years ago they moved to Nebraska, but did not stay long, until they went to their present home.

Ten children were born to the union, all of whom are alive and were present at the bedside when he departed this life. Besides there were 12 grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters living. The body was taken to Cherokee for interment.
