Funeral services for Mrs. Lester Winey, 81, DeWitt, were held May 7 at DeWitt with burial in Mt. Vernon cemetery.

Mrs. Winey died at DeWitt Community hospital after a brief illness, May 4. She was born Olga Marie Ries at Clinton. She was married to Lester Winey in 1914 at Davenport. The couple farmed in the Clarence area a number of years before moving to the DeWitt area.

Survivors include her husband, 6 daughters, Mrs. Lucile Brown and Mrs. Alice Buckelew, both of DeWitt; Mrs. Ruth Rooney, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Fern Thien, Tipton; Mrs. Lily Surdez, California and Mrs. Dorothy Parsons, Bettendorf; 2 sons, Eugene, Cherokee Village, Ark., and Richard, Cedar Rapids; 28 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 sisters.
