Mrs. Ellen Fitzsimmons, widow of the late Patrick Fitzsimmons, died at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at her home, 808 Eighth avenue, after a lingering illness which became critical on Christmas day.

Ellen Lavell was born in Ireland. With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Lavell, she came to America about the year 1860. In 1893 she was married to Patrick Fitzsimmons, who preceded her in death a number of years ago.

She leaves one daughter, Miss Mary Rose, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Kossenjens.

The deceased was a devout member of St. Irenaeus church, where the funeral High Mass will be held by Rev. James Comerford on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.
