Obituary
Thomas “Tom” Marvin Mussmann, 71, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a visitation taking place from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2022. Military Honors and Clinton Fire Department Honors will occur following the visitation at the funeral home. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Thomas was born November 24, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Harold and Adala (Schmidt) Mussmann, He was a 1969 graduate of Northeast High School. Following High School, Thomas entered the U.S. Army, a veteran of the Viet Nam War.

He was united in marriage to Michelle (Mick) Davis on November 24, 2012 in Clinton, Iowa.

Tom worked for the City of Camanche until 1978. Then he was employed with the City of Clinton, as a Fireman, from 1978 to 2003, retiring as a Captain after 25 years of service to his community. During his off-days, he also owned an operated a construction business - as a skilled tradesman, his specialty was concrete work, remodels and new construction.

Tom enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed fixing things that were broke and passing his knowledge onto others.

Thomas is survived by his children – Andrea (Paul Wiseman) Mullens of Fullerton, CA; Christina (Neal) Burken of Galesville, WI, Jeremiah Mussman of Sandwich, IL, Joshua (Marrissa) Mussmann of Clinton, Chris (Stephanie) Melvin and Lauri Melvin both of Clinton; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; his brothers - Robert Mussmann of Low Moor, his sisters - Lois McCluskey, Frieda Lundin, Mary Seeser and Jane Van Horn all of Clinton and Beverly Galloway of Low Moor; Brother’s in-law – Norman Peas of Miles and John Van Horn of Clinton; sister’s in-law – Linda Mussmann of Teeds Grove, Sharon Mussmann of Bryant and Barb Mussmann of East Dubuque; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers – Marvin, Leighton, Arnold, Fritz and James; sisters – Judith Pease and Donna Durkop; brothers in-law – William McCluskey, William Lundin, David Seeser, Duanne Durkop and James Galloway and sisters in-law – Edith and Mary Mussmann.

Memorials made can be directed to the wishes of the family.
