William “Bill” Clark, 86, of Clinton, passed away, Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the Alverno.

Services will be 1:00pm, Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. A gathering will be held after the burial at Lyons Tap in Clinton. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00pm-5:00pm at the funeral home.

William M. Clark was born on July 6, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of William and Carena (Sweeney) Clark. He was a 1955 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He married Kathryn Ludescher on February 13, 1965 in Clinton; she passed away on March 30, 1992. He later met Pauline Rivera and they were together until her passing on June 17, 2021.

Bill was a barber for many years and also worked at International Paper for 28 years retiring in 1998. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed listening to Irish music. He will be remembered as a great story teller and also authored and published several children’s stories. Bill prided himself on his involvement in AA. He enjoyed helping others gain and maintain their sobriety.

Bill is survived by his daughter: Carena (Chris) French of Clinton and his grandchildren: Kathryn LaRue and Mason French. He is also survived by the all of Bob and Molly Judge's children. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and friends that are family Bob and Molly Judge.

Memorials can be made to his Grandchildren's education or Alcoholics Anonymous.
