Obituary

Jill Marie (Rowan) Housenga, 65, of Camanche, Iowa passed away at home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Funeral services take place at 12 pm on Tuesday, July 5, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation occurs two hours prior from 10 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial immediately follows at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Jill was born September 18, 1956 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Joseph and Evelyn (Dunn) Rowan. She was a 1975 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. Later she enrolled at Clinton Community college where she would graduate with honors with an Associates of Arts Degree in Graphic Arts.

Jill was employed at International Paper, Clinton, for 24 years, where she met the love of her life and future husband Harry Housenga. They were married on March 31, 1981 in Clinton – Harry passed away in 2005. Following her employment with International Paper, she pursued employment at Thomas and Betts as well as Slumberland and just recently retired from the Clinton Recreational Department.

Jill loved socializing with friends, family and her best friend Bel. She loved her little dog – Puddles. She was an artist, a perfectionist and a very hard worker. She enjoyed her church family, crafts, making baskets, and sewing. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren with whom she loved spending time. She will be greatly missed.

Jill is survived by two sons - Joseph Housenga of Clinton and Nathan Housenga of Davenport; one daughter Brenda Stock of Camanche; five grandchildren - Abby, McKenzie, Haley, Conor and Harrison; two sisters - Jean Kelley and Jerilyn Malli both of Clinton; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother - Jim and beloved pet - Puddles.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Memorials made can be directed to the wishes of the family.
