Richard D. Conklin (Dick), age 71, a resident of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

A celebration of Life gathering and visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 11am to 1pm at the Lemke Funeral Home with burial following.

Dick was born on November 2, 1950 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Winifred (Snyder) Conklin. He is retired from Johnson Construction, Local #502 & #676 and had a passion for painting, golf and billiards. He could build a house, fix a car, and play pool with the best of them. For those that knew him know that he was a straight shooter and had no problem telling you what he thought. However, there was a tender side to him and he loved his blended family with all he had.

He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Bonnie of 25 years and was a loving father to his daughter, Salinda (Chris Campbell) Conklin of Henderson, NV, and two sons, Sandy (Emily) Conklin of Humble, TX, and Shane (Heather) Conklin of Keller, TX; step-children: Tina (Scott) Jepsen, Amanda (Kevin) Hart, Nate (Wendy) McNeal all of Clinton, Shannon McNeal of North Liberty; siblings: Sandy Chase, Star Fox, Bob Conklin and Kurt Conklin of Clinton; and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joe Conklin, and a sister Diana Schumacher. A host of family, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors are left to cherish his memory.
