WHEATLAND - Mabel Horstmann, 76, died March 11, 1978 at her home in Wheatland.

Services were held Thursday, March 16 at the Union Presbyterian church. The Rev. Paul Skelley officiated. Burial was in the Pine Hill cemetery, Wheatland.

She was born Aug. 30, 1901 in Wheatland, the daughter of Silas and Amelia Edmonds Scott. She married Walter Horstmann on Oct. 6, 1920 at Maquoketa.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Beulah) Gade of Wheatland; Mrs. Keith (Dorothy) Russell of Clarence; Mrs. Creighton (Lola) Barner of Martelle; a son, Harold of Honolulu, Hawaii, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Horstman, and two sons.

Pallbearers were Ralph Martens, Harold Rock, Dale Scott, Arthur Marx, Robert Horstman, and Henry Scott, jr.
