Earl G. Buelow, 91, of Camanche passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 at The Alverno – Clinton.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Monday, March 14, 2022 at Church of the Visitation Catholic Church in Camanche. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 3:00 pm Sunday afternoon at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Earl George Buelow was born December 18, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Reinholdt and Anna (Harkins) Buelow. He was a 1949 graduate of Lyons High School. He married June Weber on February 7, 1953 in Clinton, Iowa; together they celebrated 68 years of marriage before June passed away on February 27, 2021.
Earl served in the National Guard for 15 years and then served in the Army reserves for 17 years. He worked for Chemplex as a Machinest for many years; retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Church of the Visitation Catholic Church since it opened. He was an instrumental part of starting the Catholic Church in Camanche. He volunteered with Boy Scouts for 20 years. He enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with his family. He and June enjoyed their time traveling after retirement and then living in Florida for many years before returning to Camanche in 2010.
Earl is survived by his daughter Laurie (Jeff) Heddinger of Farmington, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren: Justin (Tabitha), Jeremy, Jason (Suzanne) and Melissa (Derik Leitzen) Shadle, Leah, Anna and Eric Heddinger, Aaron (Rachel) and Matthew (Kylie) Krogman, Jennifer (Derek Halgrimson) Warner, Earl (Kristi) Buelow and Regina (Greg) Nichols; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother Ralph (JoAnn) Buelow; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sons: Michael Buelow and Harold Buelow; three daughters: Teresa Shadle, Mary Lynn Buelow and Debbie Krogman, three brothers and three sisters.
