Devan R. Hixson, 42, of Camanche passed away, Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus and now has joined her father and brother in heaven.

Funeral Services will be 2:00pm, Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Point, Benjamin Point, Kyle Petersen, Jeremy Point, Tommy Knipple, and Richard Laux. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Adam Moore, Anna Knipple, Ashley Laux, Courtney Petersen, and Molly Jess. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00pm to the service time at the funeral home.

Devan Rae Hixson was born on February 24, 1979 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Wendy (Point) Hixson. She was a 1996 graduate of Camanche High School. She also graduated from Kaplan College.

Devan was a paraeducator at the Camanche schools. She also worked at Eagles. She loved being around her family, was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. She loved displaying her Christmas tree and was known to have her tree up in August.

Devan is survived by her sons: Dominik Subcliff and Julian LaDouceur of Camanche; her mother: Wendy Hixson of Camanche; her significant other: Mark LaDouceur of Camanche; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many foreign exchange students she hosted and cared for as family. She was preceded in death by her dad, her brother: Ronnie, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
