Violet Schillinger, 98, of Clinton passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at West Wing in DeWitt.

Private Funeral Mass will be at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery next to her husband. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family and online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.

Violet Nelson was born February 15, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Agnes (Demovich) Nelson. She married Joseph Schillinger in 1939 in Chicago; he preceded her in death in 2007.

Violet was a homemaker and loved cooking, gardening, needlework, doing art projects and word searches. She loved the Chicago Cubs and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Lee Schillinger, granddaughter Susan (Barry) Sharp, great grandchildren: Jeff Mannix and Sarah Mannix (Bill Hoke); great great grandchild Margaret Mannix and many beloved niece and nephews.

Violet was preceded in death by her mother and father Fred and Agnes Nelson, brothers: Fred Junior (Peg) Nelson and Robert (Jean) Nelson, husband Joseph L. Schillinger, two sons: Joseph F. and Kenneth Schillinger, and grandson Jeffrey Schillinger.
