Obituary

James “Jim” Dean Wing, 60, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away at Trinity Health Center, Rock Island, Il on Thursday January 13, 2022. A visitation will take place from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, January 21 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. A private family funeral will take place at a later date with burial at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

James was born October 29, 1961 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Dean and Chelly (Clark) Wing. He was a 1980 graduate of Northeast High School, Goose Lake, Iowa. James was united in marriage to Lynn Stuedemann on January 30, 1982 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Clinton.

James was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

From 1982 to 1995 James worked as a supervisor at International Paper and later was a Semi-Truck Driver for Murray Transfer in Davenport, Iowa.

James grew up on a farm and enjoyed helping his dad at a young age - he truly loved life on the farm. He operated all sorts of farm equipment and took care of many animals. Jim was a member of 4-H and Future Farmers of America. He loved to travel and took many vacations with his wife and children over the years. Jim touched many lives with his generosity and had a passion for life. He enjoyed going to Iowa Hawkeye and Cubs games and was an avid fan. He loved his little dog Tyler and above all, he loved his family very much and will be greatly missed.

James is survived by his wife Lynn of nearly 40 years of Bettendorf, IA; two sons – Douglas Wing of Clinton and Derek Wing of Bettendorf; one daughter – Sarah (Alain) Holaday of East Peoria, Il; one grandson – Kasdyn Bailey of Clinton; his mother – Chelly Wing of Clinton; his mother in-law – Carol Stuedemann of Camanche; two sisters in-law – Paula Whitworth of Yorba Linda, CA and Lori (Jeff) Bettenga of San Diego, CA; one brother in-law- David Stuedemann of Camanche; and two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, father in-law – Wesley Stuedemann and brother in-law – Terry Whitworth.
