Lowden and Clarence friends and relatives were shocked to hear of the sudden death of Henry Keitel, 38, Friday. Mr. Keitel died early that day at his farm near DeWitt.

Funeral services were held Monday at St. Joseph's church in DeWitt and burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Mr. Keitel was born Nov. 27, 1925 to August and Louise Keitel, nee Brunscheen. He spent his boyhood in the Lowden-Clarence area and following his marriage to Alice Green of Grand Mound on Feb. 5, 1949 the couple farmed on the former Otto Koch farm near Massillon. Several years later they moved to the farm near DeWitt.

He was a member of St. Joseph's church and men's choir, Knights of Columbus and DeWitt Izaak Walton League and was president of the Clinton County Central Farmer's Union.

Survivors are his wife: five sons, Steven, Dennis, Ronald, John and Paul; four daughters, Mary, Nancy, Susan and Catherine, all of at home; his father of DeWitt; one brother, Fred of Jefferson City, Mo.
