Joyce Ann Lutz, 83, of Cordova, Illinois passed away at home on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Funeral services take place at 10 am on Monday, November 29, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. A visitation occurs one-hour prior from 9 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the services with burial taking place at later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Joyce was born September 10, 1938 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Margaret (McCallister) Howes. Joyce was the youngest of seven children with a twin sister Judy. Joyce was a 1957 graduate of Mount Saint Clare High School, Clinton.

Joyce was united in marriage to David Lutz on October 4, 1958 at the Saint Irenaeus Church in Clinton – together for 63 years.

Joyce was a member of the Wildwood Church in East Moline, Illinois. She worked at A.C. Nielsen’s Clearing House and then Promotion Fulfillment Center (PFC) for 15+ years.

Joyce was an avid fisher and catching Crappies was her specialty. Often traveling with her husband, spending time in the South during the winter months, always include a fair amount of fishing together. She developed her expertise at fishing early on as Joyce and her husband owned and operated “Lutz Boat Rental and Bait”. Joyce trusted Christ as her personal Savior. She loved reading the Bible and was a prayer warrior. Above all, she loved her entire family very much, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her husband David Lutz of Cordova, IL; five children – Sheryl (Dennis) Sanders of CO, Samuel Lutz of IL, Cindy (Doug) Thompson of IA, Susan (Keith) Hunt of NE and Joseph (Julie) Lutz of IL.; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters – Judy Libberton and Mary Harrington; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings – Chuck, Tom, Peggy and Clyde and many nieces and nephews.
