Obituary for Carol A. Ivey
Carol A. Ivey, 78, of Camanche, passed away, Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Alverno.

Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Monday, November 1, 2021 at Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery – Camanche. Serving as pallbearers will be Colten Hilgendorf, Brettan Hilgendorf, Carsen Hilgendorf, Mark Hilgendorf, Logan Hilgendorf, Zachary Hilgendorf, Jacob Hilgendorf, Adam Hilgendorf, Hunter Alm, and Trenton Alm. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00am to the service time at the funeral home.

Carol Ann Gray was born on July 22, 1943 in Morrison, Illinois, the daughter of Glen and Cathryn (Norman) Gray. She was a 1961 graduate of Clinton High School. She married Stephen L. Ivey on August 3, 1974 in Clinton; he passed away March 6, 2015.

Carol was a homemaker, she also worked at Eagles Grocery Store and Tessa’s.

Carol enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She served as the Camanche Days Queen in 2009. She was instrumental in improving Camanche city league softball. She was a youth leader and Sunday school teacher Immanuel Lutheran Church in Camanche. She was a Brownie troop leader in Camanche. Many of her children’s friends considered her a second mom. She will be remembered for her cooking, baking and her endless love.

Carol is survived by her children: Craig (Lynne) Hilgendorf of Camanche, Mark (Lorri) Hilgendorf of Camanche, Timothy (Robin) Hilgendorf of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, Christopher (Allison) Ivey of Chicago, Illinois, and Dawn (Stephen) Alm of Camanche; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and one on the way in May 2022, siblings: Ramona Frederick of Clinton, Glen (Shirley) Gray, Jr. of Clinton, Leroy Gray of Atlantic, Iowa, and Dwayne (Ruth) Gray of Rockton, Illinois.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister: Thelma Jewell, her mother and father-in-law: Herbert & Bernice Ivey, and her sister-in-law: Karen (Jim) Powers.

Memorials can be made to the Skyline Center.
