Services for Walter Horstmann, 73, Wheatland, were held July 2 in St. Paul's United Church of Christ at Wheatland. Burial was in Pine Hill cemetery.

He died in Colonial Manor Nursing Home at Wheatland June 30. Mr. Horstmann was born in Toronto. He married Mabel Scott in Lost Nation, in 1920.

He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War I. He was the Liberty Township assessor for 32 years and the Springrock Township assessor for a number of years.

Survivors include his wife; 3 daughters, Mrs. Hubert Gade, Toronto; Mrs. Keith Russell, Clarence; Mrs. Creighton Barner, Martelle; 2 sons, Darrell, Wheatland; Harold, Denver, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Louis Wulf, Lost Nation and a brother, Leonard, Calamus.
