Obituary for Linda L. Kraciun
Linda L. Kraciun, 71, of Camanche, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at MercyOne, Dubuque. Services will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Catholic Church of the Visitation, Camanche. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 4-7PM at the Church. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche. Pallbearers will be Keith Brooks, Samuel Brooks, Shaun Kraciun, David Cerne, Eric Kraciun and Brant Kraciun. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig assisted with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at snellzornig.com.

Linda L. Gertson was born September 23, 1949 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Marcella Sally (Kron) Gertson, Sr. She was a 1968 Clinton High School graduate. Linda married Louis Kraciun, Jr, September 12, 1970 at the Church of the Visitation, Camanche.

She had been employed as head cashier at the Camanche Super Value for more than 16 years prior to retiring in 2009. She had also worked for A. C. Nielsen Coupon for several years prior to raising her family.

Linda was a member of the Church of the Visitation where she was active with the Altar and Rosary Society and the Ladies Auxiliary, she was member of the Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary and a Lifetime member of the Women of the Moose, having earned all of her degrees and was chairwoman of the Higher Degree Committee. Linda enjoyed going to craft stores, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a very generous person.

Survivors include her husband, Louis “Lou” Kraciun of Camanche; daughter, Stacy (Keith) Brooks of Peoria, IL; son, Eric (Susie) Kraciun of Eldridge, IA and son, Shaun (David Cerne) Kraciun of Clive, IA; grandchildren, Emily, Alison, Samuel, Maggie and Brant; and siblings, Tony (Wendy) McAndrews of Boca Raton, FL; Michael Gertson of Clinton, IA; Terry (Marcia) Gertson of Terre Haute, IN; Penny (Jim) Campbell of Clinton, IA; Eugene “Gert” Gertson, Jr of Camanche, IA and Marry (LeRoy) Jarrett of Camanche, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Sister, Sharon and Sister-in-law, Patricia.
