Betty L. Beaudry, 93, of Lost Nation, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A private funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. There is no public visitation. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lost Nation, Iowa.

Betty Louise Schmidt was born on March 2, 1928 in Lowden, Iowa, to Charles and Minnie (Sonnemaker) Schmidt. She was a graduate of Lowden High School. She married Paul J. Beaudry on October 27, 1951 in Argyle, Minnesota. Three children were born to this union, Lynn, Susan and Beth Ann.

Betty was a farmwife who raised a family and farmed with her husband west of Lost Nation for many years. She was an exceptional mom and was well known in the area for her baking skills, especially her famous cinnamon rolls!

Betty was a member of the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lost Nation. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, enjoyed doing difficult crossword puzzles and loved baking.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Lynn (Christine) Beaudry of Lowden, IA, Susan (Andrew) Seeberger of Dubuque, IA, and Beth Ann (Kraig) Sleaford of Davenport, IA; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Minnie Schmidt, her step-mother Alvina Schmidt, her husband Paul on May 5, 1985, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
