Fred Dienst, 78, died Sunday in his home northeast of Lowden, following a long illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland, with the Rev. Harold Koenig officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Arthur Licht, Irwin Steinke, Alfred Licht, Sylvan Mowry, John Proesch and Erwin Meier.

Mr. Dienst, son of Frederick and Lisetta Peek Dienst was born near Toronto, March 31, 1885. He was a farmer and a member of St. Paul's church. He never married.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Ziegler, and one brother, Adolph, both of Wheatland.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
