David James Pesis (68) of Arcadia Florida passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2021 at The University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
His family and friends have granted his wishes of cremation and a private burial at the Lost Nation Cemetery in Lost Nation Iowa. Dawson Funeral Service is caring for his loved ones in this difficult time.
David was born on November 26th, 1952, in Great falls Montana to Harold and Caryl Pesis (Chandler/Basso). He graduated from Arapahoe Senior High School in Littleton Colorado in 1972 and continued his education in many trades while traveling as a young entrepreneur.
He was united in marriage to Karen Dalchow (Thompson) on March 10th, 1984 in Colorado. David traveled extensively to many parts of the world working primarily in jewelry and often enjoyed being a "jack of all trades". David owned many stores over the years and loved building and creating things. He could often be found at local sales, fishing, cooking, working on projects, or buying and selling antiques and spending time with his family and friends.
After the loss of his wife Karen in 2010, in Jones County Iowa, he settled in Arcadia Florida where he made many friends and spent his time buying and selling jewelry and antiques. He is remembered as an incredibly intelligent man who could always make you smile with his Hawiian shirts and heartwarming personality. David had an abundance of knowledge about many different items from across the globe and was a true entrepreneur . In recent years he is most known as the owner of "The Silver Shop" in downtown Arcadia.
Those left to cherish his memory are his four children: Joshua Thompson, Jason Thompson, Bryan Pesis, Tiffany Olson-Miles (Pesis), many grandchildren, friends, and acquaintances.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and his wife Karen.
A private burial will be held in his memory on June 25th, 2021, at the Lost Nation Cemetery in Lost Nation Iowa where he will rest in final peace with his wife Karen.
