Obituary
Julie Ellen Cooper, 63, of Le Claire, Iowa (formerly of Clinton) passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with no services taking place. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.Julie was born January 19, 1958 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Leona (Hammerand) Haferbier. She had four siblings – Beverly (Cusimano), Marlene (Greve), Linda (Ron Mangler) and Steve (Carol Haferbier). She was a graduate of East Central High School in Miles, Iowa.
Julie was united in marriage to Steve Cooper on September 25, 1976 in Preston, Iowa - Steve passed away on June 26, 2020.
Julie was an Executive Assistant with Medical Associates for the last 21 years. Prior, she worked as an Executive Assistant at U.S. Bank for 23 years.
Julie loved music, watching movies and doing word searches with her colorful pens. She enjoyed playing board games and games on her cell phone. She dearly loved her “grand” dogs and “grand” cats. She also loved being outdoors, especially tending to her flower garden and just enjoying the fresh air. Above all, she loved her family very much.
Julie is survived by her two daughters - Angela “Angie” (Bob Fore) Cooper of Clinton and Jessica (Brian) Melvin of LeClaire, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Steve, brother Steve Haferbier, mother in-law Shirley Cooper, two brother in-laws - Jimmy Cusimano and Truman Greve.
Julie will be remembered as an awesome, amazing and loving mom who will be most dearly missed.
